Department of Petrochemistry and Polymer

Polymer and Petrochemical Research Group, due to the Chemical and Petrochemical Institute’s duties, is working in the related fields including rubber, plastics, and petroleum products as follows:

• Providing laboratory experiments on products to the provincial institute of standards, customs administration and other applicants.
• Providing test services related to research and research projects in the field of polymer and petrochemicals.
• Providing researches and research activities in the field of polymer and petrochemicals.
• Publishing the results of research and scientific activities through publications, journals, articles, etc.
• Development and cooperating in developing national standards in the field of polymer and petrochemicals products and raw materials.
• Development and cooperating in developing international standards in the field of polymer and petrochemicals products and raw materials
• Secretary of mirror committees of TC 45,TC 138, , TC 28
• Providing technical  and consulting services for inspectors, standardization experts and quality controllers to reinforce and promote efficiency.
• Holding training courses for in charge people such as quality control managers, inspectors, standardization experts…  
• Holding training workshops.
• Holding conferences, exhibitions and seminars. 
• Cooperating in audit procedure according to the ISO/ISIRI/IEC 17025 and laboratories assessment method.

 

 

 



The important activities of this department are as follows:
  • Conducting experiments on products subject to mandatory and encouraging standards
  • Undertaking research projects in relevant areas (esp. Conducting research activities to enhance the quality of products and services and to improve production methods and industries efficiency)
  • Publishing the results of research and scientific activities through publications, journals, articles, etc.
  • Cooperating in developing national and international standards and responding to ISO’s Standards Draft
  • Providing scientific and technical services to firms that didn’t succeed in receiving standard certification
  • Providing consulting services
  • Training and retraining of quality control staffs
  • Holding training workshops
  • Holding conferences, exhibitions and seminars

  • Research labs are equipped with the most advanced equipment for conducting researches or technical tests. This department contains 5 laboratories that are working in the mentioned fields as follows:

The standard research institute as the most important research and research authority of the standardization system in the country as well as the bridge between the centers of production and application of science, with the aim of completing the scientific chain and gaining national trust in products and services, is seeking to create the appropriate and appropriate context. Acquiring the necessary tools, while guiding the universities and research centers to meeting the scientific requirements of standardization, underpins the "transformation of scientific findings into standards" and "development of research-based standards" in order to introduce and transfer scientific advances to industries, service centers and ultimately at the level. There are 4 research institutes, 15 research groups, 2 virtual research groups and more than 110 specialized laboratories in the standard research institute, providing the necessary background for research.
